Job Purpose

  • Manage the production activities within the designated Offshore Asset area of responsibility, in regards to day to day operations and the management of a multi-skilled offshore operations team, by providing leadership for safe, reliable, environmentally sound and optimised operation of the Qatargas Offshore Production facilities.

Key Job Accountabilities - I

  • Direct a team of production operations staff to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations of the assigned offshore assets, by ensuring well stream production to onshore, through effective planning and execution of activities consistent with company policies and procedures.

  • Evaluate all operational changes to the assigned assets, identify and mitigate any associated risk to ensure operational integrity and process safety compliance.

  • Ensure the adequacy of work plans from an activity efficiency and effectiveness, assuring these are captured in the department’s integrated activity plan and that each is effectively resourced and communicated to all relevant parties.

  • Motivate and advise staff on company’s key policies and procedure, e.g. Risk & Work Management policies to ensure consistent implementation and complaisance.

  • Ensure the continued development and implementation of operating & maintenance procedures in collaboration with others, whilst liaising with maintenance in joint management of asset shutdowns to leverage synergies.

Key Job Accountabilities - II

  • Coordinate Operations budget submissions and take the lead in the development of operating cost optimization strategies by encouraging the implementation of operating best practices to achieve business targets and KPI.

  • Advise, coordinate and support project & expansion activities as requested, through participation in P&ID and document reviews, HAZOPS, HAZID’s etc., in support of all expansion and development projects, including minor projects by providing operational input to ensure all project deliverables are supported by the department.

  • Ensure Permit to Work (PTW) application and compliance is adhered too, through self-audits and that all remedial actions identified are completed whilst ensure alignment with safety operation procedures, environmental protection, occupational health and security regulations as per company policies.

  • Provide operational leadership and guidance in responses to all incidents or events, in alignment with company policies and procedures, whilst ensuring that all operational Incident Response Team members are fully competent in their assigned roles and comprehend their responsibilities.

  • Ensure effective implementation of the company Competency Assurance programs and the development of operating procedures whilst conducting timely reviews to identify any potential enhancement requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Chemical, Process, Petroleum, Mechanical in Engineering or equivalent.

Knowledge and/or Experience - I

  • 10 years’ of operational experience in the Oil and Gas industry, of which 5 years’ are in supervisory /management roles.

  • In-depth knowledge of offshore production system and process.
